Neighbourhoods - Okanagan FallsOkanagan Falls is located at the south end of beautiful Skaha Lake in the southern quarter of the picturesque Okanagan Valley. It is named after the falls at the southern end of Skaha Lake where it empties into the Okanagan River. The valley is actually a northern extension of the Columbia Basin and forms the only temperate desert area in Canada. Okanagan Falls is part of the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) Electorial Area D. The community elects one representative to the Regional District's Board. There are no specific boundary lines to define the community's area, but it is generally defined as the current irrigation district plus the residential development of Skaha Estates. In addition to the core community of Okanagan Falls, satellite neighborhoods such as Skaha Estates and Heritage Hills are included in the Okanagan Falls area. The communities of Skaha Estates and Heritage Hills use many of the commercial and public services available in Okanagan Falls such as its commercial sector, elementary school, library, seniors' center and recreation center. |
